Choosing the right foundation shade
Lily Lolo
What’s that statistic again? – That one in three of us ladies is wearing the wrong bra size? I reckon that could also be true for foundation shades. What is it with girls that insist that bright orange is a good look?
Pleeeeeaaase trust us; if you apply your foundation and it looks orangey, it’s the wrong shade. Yep it’s annoying, and yes it means that it’s back to the sampling search, but just like buying the right bra, it’s going to feel great when you find the perfect match!
Test samples on your jaw line (no, not on your hand for the 1000’th time!), if it looks orange it’s too dark, if it looks ashy or stands out it’s too light, you need a foundation that blends into your natural skin tone. (And yes, that means a lighter shade in winter…)
Try samples – they’re cheap and you’re allowed to buy one in every colour if you want! At Lily Lolo we’re passionate about having the right foundation shade, and we have one of the largest shade selections available on the market.

I love the massive shade selection, and also the way it’s organised- in the subheadings of Pale, Pale-Light etc. It helped me massively when trying to select my shade. I ordered a couple of samples- another great service- and I can’t wait for them to come now! I’d also like to commend you on the price of your shipping, it’s wonderful! Many times when I order things online I’ve felt conned by paying almost the price of the product again, but not here!
